All Construction Services is seeking qualified applicants for the seasonal (with potential to be Full-time for the right person) position of Seasonal Civil Construction Laborer. M-F, 7-3:30.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Site Preparation & Cleanup: Clearing debris, removing hazards, and setting up equipment like barricades, cones, temporary fencing, etc.
Material Handling: Loading, unloading, and organizing materials such as lumber, ADS pipe, and piping, then distributing on-site as directed.
Earthwork & Excavation: Digging trenches, backfilling holes, and compacting earth using shovels, picks, or vibratory compactors
Equipment Operation: Safely using hand and power tools, such as jackhammers, compactors, saws, grinders, weed whackers, backpack blowers, electric grease guns
Maintenance: Perform daily pre-and post-operation inspections, including checking fluids and greasing machines; report or repair mechanical issues.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA, federal, state, and company safety regulations. Wear proper PPE and participate in safety meetings.
Project Collaboration: Work with the site supervisors & other employees, other contractors (when applicable), and project managers to meet deadlines
Following Plans & Instructions: Strictly adhering to verbal and written instructions from supervisors (foremen) and interpreting basic blueprints or construction layouts.

Reliability & Punctuality: Showing up on time every day is one of the most valued traits for seasonal workers.
Teamwork & Communication: Most work is done in crews; you must be able to follow oral and written instructions clearly and coordinate with coworkers.
Willingness to Learn: An eager attitude toward learning new techniques and technologies is often more important than prior experience for entry-level roles.
Adaptability: The ability to work in varying outdoor weather conditions and adjust to changing project demands is critical.
Tool Proficiency: Competency in using basic hand tools (shovels, rakes, picks) and power tools.
Math & Reading: Basic mathematical skills are used to calculate measurements and material quantities; reading comprehension is essential for following detailed instructions.
Key Physical Requirements:
Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry 50 to 100 lbs. occasionally, with frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. to move tools, materials, and equipment parts.
Manual Labor: Capacity to perform strenuous manual tasks (shoveling, hammering stakes, or using jackhammers, compactors).
Repetitive Motion: Frequent use of arms and hands to signal, grab, turn, and push controls
Three-Point Contact: Ability to safely climb on and off heavy mobile equipment by maintaining three points of contact (two hands/one foot or one hand/two feet).
Agility: Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to perform daily inspections or navigate tight construction areas.
Dexterity & Coordination: Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are needed to operate tools safely and precisely
Vision: Standard requirements often include at least 20/40 acuity (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish colors (red, amber, green) for safety signals.
Depth Perception: Critical for accurate grading, trenching, and working near other workers or obstacles.
Hearing: Must be able to hear normal sounds, voice patterns, and warning signals over the noise of heavy machinery.
Endurance: Ability to sit or stand for long shifts (8–12+ hours) while subjected to constant whole-body vibrations
Environmental Tolerances: Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow), high noise levels, and dust/fumes
Salary DOE/DOQ
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current valid MA CLASS D Driver’s License
- Current valid O.S.H.A 10 Certification- Preferred but not required
- Successful results of pre-employment physical and drug screen
